Authorities raided an unlicensed entertainment venue in central Phuket late on March 27, following social media complaints about the business operating until dawn. The enforcement action, directed by Phuket Governor Nirut Pongsitthithavorn and senior provincial officials, targeted a location near Soi Phunphol in Talad Nuea flagged by the Facebook page “Sut Jad Palad Bok.” Police confirmed the venue was open beyond legal hours and serving food, alcohol, and live entertainment without the required licenses.
Arrest and Evidence Seizure
A 47-year-old man identified as the caretaker was arrested at the scene, officials said. Four items of evidence were confiscated during the operation. The suspect faces charges under the Entertainment Venue Act B.E. 2509 (1966) and its amendments for operating without authorization and remaining open past midnight. Both the individual and the seized evidence were transferred to Muang Phuket Police Station for further investigation.
Enforcement Team and Official Response
Chief Administrative Officer Akara Suwattikul led the raid, supported by district officers Hirun Heedchan and Thiti Boonyasthian, along with Volunteer Defense Corps members. Officials stated the operation aimed to uphold public order, morality, and community safety in response to online concerns about illegal nightlife activity.
