British and Irish Motorcyclists Arrested in Phuket for Dangerous Wheelie Stunts – VIDEO

Police in Phuket arrested a British and an Irish motorcyclist on March 25 after video footage of them performing dangerous wheelie stunts on Chao Fa West Road in Chalong circulated widely on social media. The viral post, published by local Facebook news pages, showed one foreign rider pulling wheelies on a busy public road, drawing criticism from residents and prompting a rapid police response.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Chalong Police Superintendent Pol. Col. Surasak Jaidee ordered an immediate investigation after the footage surfaced. Officers identified the British rider within three hours, tracking the stunts to areas opposite Lotus’s shopping mall and other stretches of Chao Fa West Road. That evening, police found two motorcycles matching the video— a Honda CRF 450R and a Yamaha MT07— parked outside a convenience store, where the British and Irish nationals, identified only as Mr. Harry and Mr. Brian, were detained with the vehicles.

Neither suspect held a valid Thai motorcycle license or an international driving permit, police said. Both admitted to performing the stunts seen in the viral footage. Officers seized the motorcycles and brought the men to Chalong Police Station. The pair face charges of reckless driving endangering public safety and operating a vehicle without a valid license. Police confirmed the case has been forwarded to prosecutors for trial.
