Chinese Fraud Suspect Arrested in Phuket

A Chinese national wanted for large-scale contract fraud was arrested in Phuket on April 2, Thai Immigration Police confirmed. The suspect, identified as Mr. Wang, 32, was detained at a condominium in Patong, Kathu District after a coordinated operation involving the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok and the Royal Thai Police’s Foreign Affairs Division.

Details of the Fraud Allegations and Arrest

Chinese authorities allege Wang deceived over 30 victims in Shenyang, Liaoning Province by posing as a supplier of billiard equipment. He is accused of using fake shipping videos and falsified documents to secure contracts and payments, collecting more than 1 million yuan before fleeing abroad.

Phuket Immigration investigators located Wang using intelligence that indicated he had entered Thailand legally on a tourist visa, which remained valid at the time of arrest. Officers reported that Wang admitted his identity during questioning.

Immigration Division 6 approved the revocation of Wang’s right to remain in Thailand due to the outstanding arrest warrant from China. He is currently held at the Phuket Immigration Office, pending deportation proceedings under Thai law and international cooperation protocols.
