Driver detained and tested for alcohol
Police detained the 28-year-old driver at the scene and conducted an alcohol breath test, which returned a negative result. The driver was operating a rented sedan at the time of the collision.
Officers reported that the teenagers had been walking along the roadside when the vehicle crossed into their path. The car sustained significant damage to the front bumper and windshield, police said.
All three victims were transported by rescue workers to Vachira Phuket Hospital. Police stated that an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
