A respected teacher at Satree Phuket School, Ms. Jureepan Poonsri, was honored on 28 March in Phuket after her will revealed she had donated her assets to fund scholarships for underprivileged students. The announcement came during a ceremony at Wat Vichitsangkaram, where school officials, legal representatives, and family members gathered to witness the opening of her will. Ms. Jureepan, 50, passed away from chronic illness on 21 March.

Scholarships and Charitable Allocations

The will establishes an annual scholarship program for academically strong students lacking financial resources, providing three scholarships of 3,000 baht each per year until the fund is depleted. Provisions also include the purchase of a hot and cold water dispenser for the teachers’ lounge in the IP department, where Ms. Jureepan previously worked.

Additional funds are allocated to assist fellow teachers and educational staff, as well as to support funeral expenses and public benefit scholarships. The assets are managed by Satree Phuket School’s director, Mr. Panya Hatti, who has pledged to uphold the donor’s intentions.

Ms. Jureepan’s actions have been widely praised by school administrators and colleagues, who described her legacy as an enduring example of generosity in the Phuket education community. Her funeral rites are being held at Wat Vichitsangkaram from 27 to 29 March.

Cremation is scheduled for 30 March at Wat Kosit Vihara on Thepkrasattri Road, with arrangements overseen by school and family representatives.
