Foreign couple breaks into Phuket restaurant to swim and smoke cannabis

A foreign couple was reported to Phuket police on 25 March after they were filmed entering Grills Nai-Harn restaurant in Rawai without permission, swimming in the pool, and consuming cannabis on the premises. The restaurant owner shared video evidence online and requested public assistance to identify the pair, believed to be staying in the Soi Naya area.

Video evidence and staff confrontation at Grills Nai-Harn

Surveillance footage captured the couple entering the property with a mat and using the swimming pool. An employee confronted them, informing the pair they were trespassing and referencing previous unauthorized entries seen on CCTV. The foreign man responded in Thai, asking the staff member to relax, but the employee insisted the incident was serious. The couple left the premises after apologizing multiple times.

Community impact and ongoing police response

Local staff from a nearby accommodation area also posted CCTV clips showing the same individuals swimming and using cannabis without approval. Reports circulated on the Phuket Times Facebook page alleged the couple frequently slept in public spaces, begged for food and money, and caused disturbances such as public arguments and harassment while apparently intoxicated. The restaurant owner confirmed a police report had been filed, but as of 26 March, authorities had not detained the suspects.

Phuket police are reviewing video submissions and community tips to locate the couple, with further updates expected as the investigation continues.
