The absence of these airlines has already been felt across the island’s hospitality sector, with hotels reporting a notable decline in guests.

Hotels in Phuket have reported a drop in occupancy rates, with customer losses estimated between 6–10% since late February. The most affected segment is long-haul European tourists, who generally arrive via Middle Eastern airlines and are known for their high spending and longer stays.
