The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) marked its 60th anniversary with a ceremony in Bangkok on April 1, 2026, emphasizing a vision of "sustainable development." The event, which drew faculty, students, alumni, and the public, included a special lecture and the presentation of outstanding alumni awards. NIDA’s leadership highlighted the institute’s ongoing commitment to producing skilled graduates for Thai society, a mission that has continued for six decades and remains relevant to Phuket and the nation.

Special Lectures and Award Presentations Highlight Milestone

The morning program began with a religious ceremony and a tribute to King Rama IX, NIDA’s founder, at 8:00 am.

Two keynote lectures followed: Associate Professor Dr. Juree Vichit-Vadakan discussed NIDA’s role in national development over 60 years, while Professor Wuttisarn Tanchai analyzed public sector adaptation in the current era.

Distinguished alumni and staff received awards, including the Narathip Phongpraphan honorary plaque, certificates for 30 years of service, and prizes for outstanding academic and support staff for 2025.

A photography contest commemorating NIDA’s six decades also recognized winners.

President Professor Dr. Tipawan Losuwanrat reaffirmed NIDA’s direction for its seventh decade, focusing on integrating knowledge and innovation to address global challenges and foster sustainable leadership.

An anniversary exhibition showcased NIDA’s academic achievements and history under the “5Ps” theme: People, Prosperity, Peace, Planet, and Partnership.
