Phuket Airport Immigration has denied claims that tourists were being charged B200 to use a “special lane” at the international arrivals hall, officials said on March 30. The denial follows social media posts alleging that passengers arriving in Phuket were offered faster processing for a fee.

Immigration Response and Procedures

Officials stated that all arriving passengers are processed according to standard procedures, with no paid fast-track service offered by immigration officers at Phuket International Airport. They confirmed that the only fast-track services available are those arranged in advance by airlines or travel agents, not by immigration staff.

The airport’s management team reviewed CCTV footage and found no evidence of officers soliciting or accepting payments for expedited entry. Immigration authorities said that any reports of such incidents should be supported by concrete evidence and reported directly to airport police.

No official complaints have been filed regarding the alleged B200 charge, officials added. The investigation remains open, and authorities encourage travelers to report any irregularities through established channels.
