Phuket International Airport launched its safety and service readiness campaign for Songkran 2026 on April 8, with a coordinated operation involving security agencies, local authorities, and airlines. At 9:00 a.m., Airport Director Monchai Tahanod led a ceremonial lineup at Gate 8 of the international terminal, marking the official start of integrated measures for the holiday period. The initiative aims to manage a surge in passenger numbers as Thai and international travelers arrive in Phuket for Songkran festivities.

Multi-Agency Coordination and Security Measures

Senior representatives from the Royal Thai Police Region 8, Phuket Provincial Police, Sakhu Police, Immigration, Customs, and the Royal Thai Navy’s special aviation unit participated in the launch event. The lineup ceremony underscored the integration of all relevant agencies to maximize operational preparedness.

The airport’s security division outlined a dual mission: protecting lives and property while ensuring efficient passenger services. Measures include intensified security checks, streamlined assistance for travelers, and rapid-response coordination for any incidents.
