Phuket authorities approved 24-hour fuel deliveries across the island on 24 March 2026, allowing tanker trucks to operate outside previous time restrictions. The new regulation, announced by the Phuket Provincial Office, aims to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply for the island’s 420,000 residents and thousands of daily visitors.

Extended Operations for Fuel Transporters

Under the revised policy, fuel transport vehicles can now access all major depots and service stations at any hour. The change eliminates the prior 10:00 pm to 6:00 am delivery ban, which had been in place since 2018. Officials stated the adjustment is expected to improve logistics for over 60 petrol stations and marine fuel docks, particularly in high-traffic zones such as Kathu and Thalang. Transport companies operating more than 80 licensed fuel tankers on Phuket have been notified of the updated schedule.

Safety Measures and Industry Impact

The provincial government has mandated additional safety protocols for round-the-clock deliveries, including GPS tracking and real-time reporting to the Phuket Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office. Fuel distributors must now submit daily logs detailing routes, quantities, and delivery times. The Phuket Chamber of Commerce estimates the policy could reduce supply delays during peak tourist periods by up to 30%. Local businesses, especially those in Patong and Chalong, are expected to benefit from increased fuel availability for transport and marine sectors.

Officials will review compliance data and traffic impacts in June 2026 before considering permanent adoption of the 24-hour delivery policy.
