Phuket Police Dismantle Parcel Drug Network, Seize Nearly 200,000 Meth Pills

Phuket Provincial Police dismantled a parcel-based drug trafficking network on April 4, seizing nearly 200,000 methamphetamine pills hidden in deliveries across Phuket. Officers arrested two suspects and valued the confiscated drugs at approximately 10 million baht, police said.

Multi-Agency Operation Uncovers Concealed Shipments

The investigation began after a March 30 seizure in Satun Province, where authorities found almost 20,000 meth pills concealed in air cooler boxes shipped via a private courier. Police traced the sender to Bangkok and identified seven additional parcels destined for Phuket.

On April 2, surveillance teams monitored courier depots in Phuket City and Thalang District. Officers coordinated with the Office of the Narcotics Control Board throughout the operation.

Arrests and Continuing Investigation

In Phuket City, four parcels addressed to a tattoo shop yielded 97,800 meth pills hidden in air coolers and milk carton boxes. Two suspects, Mr. Veerapong “Ton” Thongwisets and Ms. Chanidapha Pramongkit, were arrested at the scene and charged with possession and intent to distribute a Category 1 narcotic.

A separate seizure in Cherng Talay uncovered 100,000 pills inside air coolers delivered to a local restaurant. No suspects claimed the parcels, and police said efforts to identify additional members of the network are ongoing.
