Phuket water reserves hold steady
Phuket water reserves hold steady — confirmed details at this stage for Phuket readers.
Phuket’s main water reserves remain stable as of April 3, according to local officials monitoring supply levels across the island. The three principal reservoirs—Bang Wad, Bang Neow Dam, and Khlong Kratha—are all reporting storage figures within seasonal norms despite ongoing dry conditions.
Reservoir Levels and Supply Outlook
Bang Wad Reservoir, the largest on the island, currently holds 5.1 million cubic metres of water, officials confirmed. Bang Neow Dam stands at 2.7 million cubic metres, while Khlong Kratha’s level is measured at 1.8 million cubic metres.
Waterworks authorities said these volumes are sufficient to meet current demand without the need for rationing. Daily consumption across Phuket averages 150,000 cubic metres, a figure that has not significantly increased during the current dry spell.
Officials continue to monitor reservoir inflows and usage rates. No restrictions on water use are planned at this time, authorities stated.
