Police Raid Gambling Hub in Phuket, Arrest Four Suspects Linked to 120-Million-Baht Operation

Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau dismantled a major online gambling network in Phuket on March 17, arresting four suspects and seizing electronic equipment in a coordinated operation. The syndicate, which authorities say generated over 120 million baht annually, had been operating from a residence in Koh Kaew, Phuket, and attracted thousands of players across the country. The raid followed months of investigation by Division 3 of the Technology Crime Suppression Bureau (TCSD).

Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau Targets Online Gambling Network

The operation was the result of an extensive probe by Division 3 of the Technology Crime Suppression Bureau, which began tracking the illegal gambling website in early 2025. Investigators discovered the platform had registered more than 2,000 players and was facilitating monthly transactions exceeding 10 million baht. Authorities identified two main groups within the network: one managing customer deposits and withdrawals, and another handling direct communication with players as site administrators.

Arrests and Seizures in Phuket and Beyond

On March 17, cyber police executed a raid at a residence in Koh Kaew, Phuket, apprehending two suspects who reportedly admitted to working for the gambling site. Simultaneous operations in Pathum Thani and Prachuap Khiri Khan resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects accused of opening bank accounts for the syndicate. During the raids, officers seized computers and mobile phones believed to be used in the illegal operation. All four suspects confessed to their roles and were transferred to TCSD Division 3 for prosecution.

The suspects now face multiple charges, including organizing illegal gambling, money laundering, and permitting the use of their bank accounts or electronic cards for criminal activity. Police confirmed that arrest warrants have been issued for eight individuals linked to the operation, and the investigation remains active. Authorities are currently tracing financial flows, seeking to freeze assets, and working to identify the true beneficiaries behind the gambling network. The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau has reiterated its commitment to dismantling online gambling operations that exploit digital platforms and threaten public safety.

The case highlights the continued efforts by Thai law enforcement to combat online gambling in Phuket and nationwide. Further arrests and asset seizures are expected as the investigation progresses.
