Pool cleaner steals B3mn in Chalong villa theft

A pool cleaner has been arrested in connection with the theft of three million baht in cash and valuables from a private villa in Chalong, Phuket, on March 28. Police said the suspect, a 34-year-old Thai national, was taken into custody after a search of his home uncovered jewelry and cash matching items reported missing by the villa’s owner.

Suspect Confessed After Evidence Found

Investigators reported that the pool cleaner admitted to entering the villa while the owners were away for the day. Officers recovered a gold necklace, diamond-studded ring, and B1.2mn in cash during the search. The remainder of the missing items, valued at approximately B1.8mn, had already been sold to a gold shop in Phuket Town, according to police. The suspect allegedly used a duplicate key to access the property, officials said.
