Renowned Phuket school teacher praised for writing a will to donate assets as scholarships for underprivileged students — confirmed details at this stage for Phuket readers.
Renowned Phuket school teacher Chureepan Poolsri was honored on March 28 for bequeathing her assets as scholarships for underprivileged students at Satree Phuket School. The will, opened at Wat Vichitsangkaram in Phuket Town, directed her estate to fund education and charitable efforts following her peaceful passing from illness on March 21 at age 50.
Will Establishes Education Fund and Staff Support
Chureepan’s will designates the creation of an annual scholarship for three high-achieving students lacking financial resources, with each grant valued at 3,000 baht. The scholarships will be awarded each year until the designated funds are depleted.
The estate also provides for the purchase of a hot and cold water dispenser for the IP department teachers’ lounge, where Chureepan previously worked. Additional allocations include financial support for fellow teachers, education staff, and funeral expenses.

School Leadership and Community Response
School director Panya Hatti, named executor, pledged to honor Chureepan’s wishes and ensure the assets benefit Satree Phuket School and the wider community. The will’s opening was witnessed by legal counsel, faculty members, and Chureepan’s relatives.
Her funeral rites were held from March 27 to 29 at Wat Vichitsangkaram, with cremation scheduled for March 30 at Wat Kosit Viharn.
