The Samui Open Beach Volleyball Tournament 2026 will take place from 26 to 29 March at Central Festival Samui on Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui, with 90 teams and 130 athletes from 25 countries set to compete. Organisers expect the international event to draw significant attention to sports tourism in Southern Thailand, with 80% of participants arriving from overseas and the remainder comprising Thai and resident foreign nationals. Tournament Format and Schedule for 2026

The competition will unfold over three days, with matches scheduled from 09:00 to 21:00 daily between 27 and 29 March. Four divisions will be contested: Men’s 2X2, Women’s 2X2, Mixed 2X2, and Quads 4X4. Semi-finals and finals are set for 29 March, beginning at 13:00, culminating in the championship matches and awards ceremony. Spectators will have free entry throughout the event, which will also feature concession stands, merchandise stalls, and live DJ performances.

Organisers, Support, and Regional Impact

Tourism Authority of Thailand Samui, led by Director Nitharat Vanitcharoen, is presenting the tournament, with Central Festival Samui serving as host and Biggs Island Productions as organiser. Koh Samui Municipality is providing additional support to ensure smooth operations. The event is positioned as the largest of its kind in the region, aiming to enhance Koh Samui’s profile as a premier destination for international sporting events. Athletes will receive trophies, medals, sponsor vouchers, and volleyball gear in addition to the cash prizes.
