Blood Type Scarcity and Donation Details
O-negative blood is especially important in emergency situations, as it can be given to patients of any blood type. Hospital officials stated that fewer than five units remained in stock as of Thursday morning.
Donors must be aged between 17 and 70, weigh at least 45 kilograms, and be in good health, hospital staff said. Donations are being accepted at the hospital’s blood bank from 8:30am to 4:30pm daily, including weekends and public holidays.
