Police Response and Legal Action
Kamala police, led by Pol. Lt. Wichit Hoyyee, tracked down the pair and detained them at approximately 9 p.m. that evening. Officers charged them with committing an act of public indecency, specifically “behaving in a shameful manner by exposing themselves or performing obscene acts,” authorities said.
Each faces a maximum administrative fine of 5,000 baht, according to police. The case has also been referred to immigration officials, who will determine if visa revocation or deportation is warranted.
Officials emphasized that such behavior violates Thai law and damages Phuket’s tourism image. They urged all visitors to respect local regulations and cultural norms.
