Phuket will host the “Phuket Water Festival 2026” from April 11 to 13, with ThaiBev organizing the event to showcase the charm of local Songkran traditions. The festival, marking its 11th year, will feature celebrations across key areas of Phuket, inviting residents and tourists to participate in traditional and creative activities.

Focus on Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Management

This year’s festival highlights the importance of preserving Thai cultural heritage, following UNESCO’s recognition of Songkran as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Organizers aim to blend economic, social, and environmental sustainability with the festivities.

Visitors can expect a range of activities, including ten auspicious rituals, Thai-Chinese cultural performances, and music shows by local schools. Community markets will offer local food and crafts.

Patong Beach and Mai Khao Village Highlights

Patong Beach will host creative beachfront activities and live performances from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily during the festival. On April 13, Mai Khao Village will hold merit-making ceremonies, Buddha statue bathing, and a traditional water-pouring ritual for elders from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Additional events include beach clean-ups near Sirinat National Park and educational programs at local schools. The festival is part of a nationwide celebration, with parallel events in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Udon Thani, and Khon Kaen.
