A French couple were arrested and fined after being caught having sex on a public beach in Phuket on Thursday, authorities said. Officers from Kamala Police Station detained Halan, 24, and Nadia, 24, both French nationals, at a hotel in Patong district around 9pm. Officials are now seeking to have the pair deported.
Police Response and Legal Action
Kamala Police said the couple were identified following reports of public indecency on the beach. Officers located them later that evening at a Patong hotel.
After their arrest, authorities imposed a fine on both individuals. Police confirmed that deportation proceedings have been initiated against the couple.
