Phuket reported three deaths in the first three days of the Songkran Seven Days of Danger road safety campaign, according to figures released on April 13. The intensive monitoring period, which began April 10 and runs through April 16, 2026, aims to reduce casualties during the Thai New Year celebrations.
Accident Counts and Injury Breakdown
On April 12, officials recorded two road accidents in Phuket. Eleven people were admitted to hospital with injuries that day, including seven men and four women.
The injured included four Thai nationals, two Russians, one Briton, two Myanmar citizens, one Turk, and one French national. On the same day, two additional injuries were reported—one French man and one Myanmar woman—bringing the total number of injured to thirteen.

Updates to Official Figures
Officials revised the first day’s statistics, increasing the number of reported road accidents from four to five and deaths from one to two, The Phuket Express reported. All three fatalities so far were Thai nationals, comprising two men and one woman.
By the second day of the campaign, Phuket authorities confirmed two deaths. The monitoring period continues through April 16.
