Anutin rides Phuket EV Smart Bus to promote carpooling and energy savings — confirmed details at this stage for Phuket readers.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul rode a Phuket EV Smart Bus to Phuket International Airport on May 10 as part of a carpooling campaign aimed at reducing energy use. The trip began at 1.45pm after he finished an inspection related to public beach encroachment, and he traveled with Deputy Interior Minister Vorasit Liangprasit and other officials.
The vehicle was an air-conditioned Smile Bus operated by the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization. Officials said the prime minister’s group made the journey without any accompanying motorcade.
Governor briefs prime minister during airport trip
During the bus ride, Phuket Governor Nirat Pongsitthavorn sat next to Anutin and gave a running briefing on areas along the route. The report covered progress on government and Interior Ministry policies in the province.
Officials said the arrangement allowed Anutin to use travel time to hear about conditions on the ground rather than rely on a separate meeting. The briefing was intended to support faster problem-solving and longer-term responses for issues affecting the province.
