Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Phuket at 10.30am on May 10 to inspect efforts to resolve encroachment on public beach land and state land at Bang Tao Beach and Freedom Beach. The Phuket visit focused on Bang Tao in Thalang and Freedom Beach in Karon, where officials are tracking cases involving public coastal access and government property.

He landed at Phuket International Airport before beginning the inspection tour and directing follow-up action on the two sites. Officials said the visit was intended to press agencies on enforcement and progress reports.
Senior officials join inspection tour
Anutin was accompanied by Deputy Interior Minister Vorasit Liangprasit, Prime Minister’s Secretary-General Traisulee Traisoranakul and Interior Ministry Permanent Secretary Arsit Sampantharat.
Also joining the delegation were Pol Gen Samran Nuanma, deputy national police chief, Interior Ministry inspector Trakun Thotham and deputy government spokeswoman Ploythalee Laksamisaengchan.
Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat was not listed in the official delegation. Instead, Phuket Governor Nirat Pongsitthavorn and heads of local government agencies were on hand to brief the visiting team.
The briefings were delivered as the delegation monitored administrative action tied to alleged encroachment at the two beach areas.
