AOT appoints Karant Thanakuljeerapat as Phuket airport director
Airports of Thailand has appointed Karant Thanakuljeerapat to lead Phuket International Airport from 1 October 2026 as part of a 71-position reshuffle.
Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has appointed Karant Thanakuljeerapat as director of Phuket International Airport, effective 1 October 2026.
Karant will move from his current role as director of Chiang Mai International Airport. The appointment is part of AOT’s approved reshuffle covering 22 positions for employees at levels 10 and 11, according to the company. A further 49 level 9 appointments were also ordered, bringing the total number of transfers and appointments to 71.
AOT said its managing director signed the orders on 21 August 2026, following approval by the company’s board.
The changes also include Chananat Rodkul, currently director of security at Suvarnabhumi Airport, who will become an AOT level 9 expert and acting deputy director of Phuket airport for operations and maintenance.
The reshuffle follows a restructuring that removes AOT’s regional airports line. Somphop Phaksawan, previously deputy managing director for the regional airports line, will move to become deputy managing director for special affairs for organisational development. Panisa Thanakuljeerapat, previously an assistant managing director in the regional airports line, will become director of the managing director’s office.
