Three suspects were arrested in Thalang during raids on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5-6, in an operation targeting drugs and firearms, district officials said. The Phuket operation was led by Thalang Deputy District Chief Wisut Romint, Administrative Affairs chief, with Deputy District Chief Chaiporn Yangjin and members of the Thalang District Volunteer Defence Corps.
In Moo 1, Thepkrasattri, officers arrested a man identified only as Mr A. They seized 825 methamphetamine pills, 12.25 grammes of crystal meth, plastic bags and a digital scale.
He was charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell and illegal consumption of methamphetamine.
Seizures in Thepkrasattri and Srisoonthorn
A second suspect, identified only as Mr B, was also arrested in Moo 1, Thepkrasattri. Officers seized 15 ya bah pills, 9.77g of crystal meth, plastic bags, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.
He faces charges of possession and attempted sale of Category 1 narcotics, illegal drug use and driving under the influence of methamphetamine.
In Moo 4, Srisoonthorn, officers arrested Mr C and seized a .38-calibre revolver, two rounds of ammunition and a black leather holster.
He was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as illegal consumption of methamphetamine.
All three suspects were handed over to investigators at Thalang Police Station for further legal action. Officials said the raids were part of continuing government and Interior Ministry efforts to suppress narcotics trafficking and criminal influence.
