The institute combines the capabilities of Bangkok Hospital Phuket, Bangkok Hospital Siriroj and Dibuk Hospital, with support from Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth. It is designed to provide care ranging from screening and diagnosis to surgery, medication, radiation therapy, rehabilitation and long-term follow-up.

The institute also offers multidisciplinary second-opinion consultations, with specialists developing treatment plans for individual patients. An international patient service centre with multilingual care coordinators will assist patients and their families throughout treatment, according to the announcement.

The inauguration ceremony was officiated by Phuket Vice Governor Suvit Pansangiam. Attendees included Dr Poramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, president of BDMS, Dr Kongkiat Kespechara, chief executive officer of BDMS Group 6, company executives, foreign consular representatives, medical partners and guests.

Prof Dr Art Hiranyakas, director of the Bangkok-Phuket Cancer Institute and the Bangkok-Phuket Colorectal Disease Institute, presented the institute’s vision at the ceremony.
