A big bike rider was injured in a roadside fight outside Koh Kaew Muslim School in Phuket at 2.40pm on May 3, after an argument with a 6-wheel truck driver turned violent, police said. Patrolling officers from Phuket City Police responded to the report and found the rider, identified as Weerayut, with a slash wound to his right arm from a sharp weapon.
Driver admits using knife after road dispute
Police said initial questioning found the conflict began when the injured rider and the truck driver cut each other off on the road. The confrontation then escalated into a heated verbal dispute before becoming a physical attack.
The alleged attacker, identified as Boonsin, admitted he had argued with the other driver. He also admitted using a knife to slash the other man’s arm, causing the injury police found at the scene.
Rescue workers took Weerayut to hospital for urgent treatment. Police later detained Boonsin and handed him to investigators for legal action.
