British man accused of knife rampage damaging motorcycles in Phuket

A British man allegedly damaged several motorcycles and a shop sign with a knife in Chalong, Phuket, on Tuesday, May 6, according to images and video shared online. No injuries were reported, and police had not released the suspect’s identity or confirmed any arrest by the latest update.

Video shows suspect outside Chalong villa

Footage posted by the Phuket Times Facebook page showed the man walking outside what appeared to be a luxury villa in Chalong. He was shirtless and barefoot, wearing grey shorts, sunglasses and a cap, with a crossbody bag, a waist bag and headphones around his neck.

In the clips, he was seen pacing back and forth while holding a knife in his left hand and another unidentified object in his right hand. The videos were brief and did not clearly capture what he was saying.

Damage reported to motorcycle seats and avocado shop sign

The Facebook post said the man cut the seats of several motorcycles parked at the scene and shouted during the incident. A later comment added that he also damaged a vinyl sign belonging to an avocado shop nearby.

The post said it was believed the man was under the influence of drugs. It remained unclear whether the case was formally reported to Chalong Police Station or whether officers attended the scene.

The incident drew attention on social media, where users raised concerns about screening of foreign arrivals to Thailand and enforcement related to illegal substances. Some commenters called for police to investigate further.
