A 27-year-old British tourist from London was arrested in Phuket after allegedly crashing through road barriers at a busy roundabout and fleeing the scene, according to the source material.

The incident unfolded on the island after the driver of a white SUV allegedly smashed through barriers while heavily intoxicated. CCTV footage reportedly showed the vehicle speeding through the junction and narrowly missing other motorists.

Traffic police then pursued the SUV for about five kilometers before stopping it after boxing it in at a red light. A breathalyzer test later showed the driver’s alcohol level was nearly four times over the legal limit, the source said.
