Cannabis inspections in Bang Tao lead to three licence revocations
Authorities inspected 11 cannabis establishments in Bang Tao, revoking three licences and ordering six others to suspend operations.
Authorities in Phuket ordered the revocation of licences at three cannabis establishments in Bang Tao after inspections found that cannabis was being smoked on the premises on Aug. 25, 2026.
Phuket Vice Governor Khetarat Chansilp led the inspections, joined by officials from the Thalang District Office, the Phuket Provincial Public Health Office and the Thalang District Public Health Office. Eleven establishments were inspected, with authorities checking compliance with Ministry of Public Health regulations on smoking cannabis on the premises.
Five other establishments were ordered to suspend operations for 90 days, while another was ordered to suspend operations for 30 days. Officials also found that one establishment had breached Section 6(10) of the Food Act 1979 by selling food without labels. Legal proceedings will be pursued over that violation.
The inspections formed part of ongoing social-order enforcement covering drug prevention and control and tourist safety. Khetarat said Phuket would continue targeting drug-related offences and firearms, with relevant agencies working together against establishments and individuals found violating the law.
