Charity concert proposed at EDC venue in Thalang on 26 December

A charity concert is being planned at the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) venue in Thalang on 26 December, with proceeds intended to support public-interest projects.

The event is being organised by the first cohort of the Nation-Building Institute (NBI) Phuket programme in collaboration with the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO). Representatives of the NBI Phuket Class 1 organising team met PPAO President Rewat Areerob to discuss the proposal, with 26 December agreed as the preliminary date.

Organisers said the initiative would draw on the programme’s network of business, government and civil society leaders to raise funds. It is also intended to add activity during Phuket’s year-end tourism period and provide opportunities for wider public participation.

The concert programme, including the artists and other activities, is still under discussion. Organisers said further details would be announced once arrangements are finalised.

The proposal comes as Phuket prepares for EDC Thailand 2026, scheduled for 18-20 December at Rhythm Park in Cherng Talay. Phuket Governor Chotinarin Kerdsom chaired a meeting at Phuket Provincial Hall on 5 November to review preparations for the three-day electronic music festival.

Government agencies, private-sector representatives and other organisations discussed transport, traffic management, medical services, security and emergency response. Thalang District Chief Wilailak Rueangphon also attended the meeting, which focused on coordinating local services and infrastructure for Thai and international visitors.
