A 26-year-old Chinese tourist suffered minor injuries after being struck by a van while crossing the road outside Phuket Airport in Mai Khao on 30 September.

A 26-year-old Chinese tourist suffered minor injuries after being struck by a van while crossing the road outside Phuket Airport in Mai Khao, Phuket, on 30 September 2026.

Sakhu Police were notified at about 10:15am through the 191 emergency centre. Police said the collision occurred on the southbound side of the road in front of the airport.

The tourist, identified as Zhao Xue, was reportedly running across the road towards a police outpost when she was hit by a grey Phuket-registered Toyota van. Police identified the driver as 26-year-old Sakda Wianmana, who was travelling from the airport area towards the Sakhu-Nai Yang intersection.

Ms Zhao suffered minor abrasions and swelling to the back of her head. A rescue team from the Sakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organisation took her to Thalang Hospital for further treatment.

Pol Maj Kornphumphot Pongphaiboon, an investigation inspector at Sakhu Police Station, is handling the case.
