Chinese woman, son injured in Chalong domestic dispute knife attack
Officers from Chalong Police were called to a house at Smart@Chalong housing estate in Moo 5, Chalong, at about 6:45am following a report of a violent domestic dispute involving a knife.
A Chinese woman, 48, and her 13-year-old son were stabbed during a domestic dispute at a house in Smart@Chalong housing estate in Moo 5, Chalong, Phuket, on May 5, police said. Chalong Police were called to the property at about 6:45am after a report of a violent argument involving a knife, and later confirmed both victims had sustained stab wounds.
Pol Lt Wisarut Mahachoti, deputy inspector of investigations at Chalong Police, said he had first been alerted at around 4am while on duty after the station’s radio centre received an assault report from the same address.
Police say suspect fled by car before officers arrived
When officers reached the house, they found no injured people there because neighbours and acquaintances said the victims had already been taken to Dibuk Hospital for treatment.
Initial questioning indicated the boy contacted authorities to seek help during the incident. Investigators believe the violence began as a dispute between the woman and her Chinese partner, who was living at the house.
Police said the suspect left the scene by car before officers arrived. Officers documented the property, collected evidence and compiled a report for the investigation.
Chalong Police Superintendent Pol Col Surasak Jaidee has been informed of the case. Police are continuing efforts to locate the suspect and proceed with legal action.
