Driver dies after car crashes into parked truck in Thalang
A 28-year-old driver died after his car hit the rear of a parked truck on Thepkrasattri Road in Srisoonthorn, with Thalang Police investigating the cause.
A 28-year-old man died after the car he was driving crashed into the rear of a parked truck on Thepkrasattri Road in Srisoonthorn, Thalang Police said.
Police said they were notified of the fatal crash at about 5:30am after the accident occurred at approximately 2:50am. According to the police report, Thanyaboon Changthong, 28, of Tambon Thepkrasattri, was driving a Phuket-registered car southbound on Thepkrasattri Road when it struck the rear of the truck.
The truck, which was registered in Saraburi province, had been parked on the left side of the road while its driver, Charawut Rupkhao, was asleep inside the vehicle, police said.
Rescue workers took Mr Thanyaboon to Thalang Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4:39am.
Investigating officers inspected the scene, documented evidence and prepared an initial report as part of their investigation. Thalang Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
