Fire at worker camp in Koh Kaew contained without casualties

A fire at a worker camp in Soi 24, Koh Kaew, was brought under control on Sunday evening, 9 August 2026, with no injuries or fatalities reported.

The blaze began at about 6:45 p.m. at the camp, which covered roughly two rai and was made mainly of zinc-sheet structures. Local disaster prevention and mitigation teams from the Koh Kaew Subdistrict Administrative Organization, assisted by community leaders and other agencies, deployed three water trucks.

Officials said the fire was under control by 7:40 p.m. Crews continued watering the site to prevent it from reigniting, while traffic police managed congestion around the area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
