Authorities in Phuket seized 5,352 ya bah pills and 363.76g of crystal meth in five operations carried out between July 11 and 16, according to district offices in Thalang and Kathu and Region 8 Police.

The largest seizure came during a Thalang District Office operation in Thepkrasattri on July 16. Officers arrested a male suspect and seized 3,838 ya bah pills, 83.93g of crystal meth, a digital scale, plastic bags believed to have been used to package drugs, a mobile phone and a motorcycle. The suspect was handed over to investigators at Thalang Police Station.

The operation followed a July 15 arrest in Moo 3, Thepkrasattri, where officers detained a male suspect allegedly selling methamphetamine. They seized 935 ya bah pills, a mobile phone and a sedan before transferring him to Thalang Police Station.

Kathu District officers reported two separate operations. On July 14, they arrested a suspect and seized 50 ya bah pills and 4.94g of crystal meth. The suspect was charged with selling Category 1 narcotics and illegal drug use and handed over to Wichit Police Station. A second operation, conducted on July 11 and announced on July 15, led to another arrest and the seizure of 159 ya bah pills and 16.21g of crystal meth. That suspect faces charges of selling and possessing Category 1 narcotics for sale, as well as illegal drug use, and was transferred to Patong Police Station.

Separately, Region 8 Police's Crime Suppression Division arrested a 31-year-old Phuket man identified only as “Golf” during a raid at his home in Koh Kaew on July 15. Police seized 258.68g of crystal meth and 257 ya bah pills. He was charged with possessing Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell and illegal drug use before being handed over to Phuket City Police Station investigators.

The arrests follow an earlier phase of the “Operation 90 Days” campaign, during which authorities announced 28 arrests and the seizure of more than 15,000 ya bah pills in operations across Phuket. District officials said proactive investigations and arrests would continue under Ministry of Interior policy aimed at suppressing drug trafficking and improving public safety on the island.
