Police investigate brawl involving British tourists and Thai women at Patong nightclub
Patong police are investigating a fight at Illuzion nightclub involving two British tourists and three Thai women, with officers identifying all five and reviewing CCTV footage as the inquiry continues.
Police in Patong are investigating a brawl involving two British women and three Thai women at Illuzion nightclub on Bangla Road early on Wednesday.
Police said they were notified of the incident at about 6am after reports of a fight inside the venue. The altercation is believed to have happened at about 5:45am.
Bangla patrol officers took all five women to Patong Police Station at about 6:20am for questioning. According to police, those involved were British nationals Kyrah Jada Anderson, 25, and Chante Browne-Topper, 24, and three Thai women identified as Manisa Foythong, 23, Wannee Buaphatdee, 25, and Benjamas Karnkan, 28.
Police said Anderson suffered an injury to her forehead, while Browne-Topper was uninjured. Among the Thai women, one sustained bruising to her body, another had an injury to her mouth and the third had red bruising to her neck. No property damage was reported.
Preliminary questioning found that both groups had engaged in a verbal dispute before the confrontation turned physical. All injured parties were instructed to seek treatment at Patong Hospital before further questioning.
Investigators filed an official police report and recorded the incident in the daily log. Police are gathering evidence, continuing interviews and reviewing CCTV footage from inside the venue to determine how the incident unfolded.
Patong Police superintendent Pol Col Korakrit Khanthakrue said officers were working to ensure fairness to all parties before legal action proceeds. No charges had been announced at the time of reporting.
