Phuket provincial authorities arrested a 21-year-old Thai man after seizing four improvised firearms and 22 rounds of ammunition in Rassada, according to authorities quoted by The Phuket Express.

The raid took place at 4:25pm on 18 August during a special operation targeting high-risk areas. It was led by Akara Suwattikul, chief of provincial security, following complaints about youth gatherings and concerns over illegal weapons.

The seized weapons included a 12-gauge shotgun, a .38 revolver-style weapon and two pen-style firearms capable of firing .38, .380 and .22 LR ammunition.

Authorities also found eight shotgun shells, one .38 round, two .380 rounds and 11 .22 LR rounds.

The suspect was charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition under Thailand’s Firearms Act of 1947.
