French and Ukrainian tourists injured in Patong sauna brawl
Patong Police are reviewing CCTV footage after two tourists were injured during a physical confrontation at a sauna on Nanai Soi 9.
Two tourists were injured during a physical confrontation at Boonreng Sauna on Nanai Soi 9 in Patong, according to the initial police report.
Patong Police received a report at about 3.20pm after the altercation, which reportedly occurred at around 3pm. The injured men were identified as 34-year-old French national Guillaume Loic Robert Picard and 39-year-old Ukrainian national Dmytro Danylov.
Police said both men had been using the sauna before becoming involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. The initial police report did not specify what the argument was about.
The men were sent to Patong Hospital for medical examinations, and the incident was recorded in the station’s daily log. Investigators are to review CCTV footage from the sauna and collect other relevant evidence to establish what happened and determine the appropriate legal action.
