The arrest was carried out by the Crime Suppression Division Region 8. The suspect, identified only as Mr. Chirrane, was apprehended outside his hotel room at a resort in Patong in Phuket's Kathu district.

According to the source, Luxembourg authorities are seeking him over multiple alleged offenses, including kidnapping, hostage taking, armed robbery and extortion. The report also said he is accused of armed robbery involving multiple perpetrators.

After the arrest, Mr. Chirrane was transferred to Phuket Immigration for further proceedings. He will be extradited to Luxembourg to face the charges, according to the report.
