Hotel shuttle overturns in Kamala, injuring six foreign tourists
Six foreign tourists and the driver were taken to Patong Hospital after a hotel shuttle overturned on Kamala’s coastal road.
Six foreign tourists and the driver were injured when a hotel shuttle overturned on the main coastal road at the northern end of Kamala on 27 August 2026.
Kamala Police were alerted at about 1pm and found an Isuzu Carry 1.5L pickup truck, registered in Phuket, overturned on the road. The driver suffered minor injuries.
The injured tourists were identified as a 60-year-old Chinese man, two Algerian nationals, a 36-year-old Chinese man, a 10-year-old Chinese girl and a 31-year-old Chinese man. All seven injured people were taken to Patong Hospital by the Kamala OrBorTor Rescue team.
Preliminary witness accounts indicated that the vehicle was carrying the tourists from their hotel to Kamala Beach. The driver reportedly lost control on a steep, curved section of road, causing the vehicle to cross onto the opposite side and overturn.
Police photographed the scene, prepared a map and examined the crash site. Investigators said they would continue examining the circumstances and determine the cause of the accident.
