IHG signs deal for 307-room voco Phuket Patong hotel, due to open in 2028

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a hotel management agreement with Phuket HA Two Co Ltd to develop voco Phuket Patong, a 307-room hotel scheduled to open in 2028.

The new hotel will be part of the Abov Patong mixed-use project on a hillside site in Patong. According to the announcement, the development will include a hotel, branded residences and facilities including a clubhouse, cinema, multiple swimming pool zones and a playground.

IHG said the signing marks a further expansion of its premium voco brand in Thailand. The company said the brand currently has one operating hotel in the country and four more under development.

The company described voco as IHG's fastest-growing premium brand, with more than 137 hotels operating globally and another 113 in development.

Pat Jitsereetham, IHG's director of development for Thailand, said Phuket recorded its most successful tourism season in five years in 2025, with growth exceeding pre-Covid levels. He said voco Phuket Patong would strengthen IHG's Phuket portfolio, which currently consists of seven hotels across five brands: InterContinental, Vignette Collection, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

Wuttikrai Kulsirisawat, chief executive of Phuket HA Two Co Ltd, said the voco brand would complement the Abov Patong project and help strengthen Patong as a destination for residents and travelers.

IHG said the hotel will be about 150 meters from Patong Beach and will offer panoramic sea views and a mountain backdrop. Planned facilities include two restaurants and bars, a spa, a swimming pool and a fitness center. The company said the site would also offer convenient access to attractions and beaches including Karon, Kata and Kamala.

The agreement adds to IHG's pipeline in Thailand, where the group said it now has more than 80 hotels open or under development nationwide, including further planned voco openings in Bangkok and Phuket.
