One Indian tourist died after four members of a five-person group mysteriously collapsed at a cafe in Phuket, police said. The incident was reported at about 2.06am on May 9 at a well-known venue in the Kamala Beach area of Kathu, where Kamala police and Kamala tambon rescue workers responded.

Rescuers took three unconscious men to Patong Hospital and one to Thalang Hospital. A fifth man from the group showed no symptoms.
Timeline and hospital transfers
The group had arrived at the cafe at about 11pm on May 8, according to the venue’s head of security. At about 1.54am, four of the five tourists collapsed one after another for unknown reasons, prompting staff to call for emergency help.
Investigators later found the three men at Patong Hospital unconscious and unable to give statements, while the fourth patient at Thalang Hospital was also unconscious.
Patong Hospital later said two of the patients had fallen into a coma and were transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further treatment. At 2.30pm the same day, police were informed that one of them, identified as Kushagra Agrawal, had died, while the other patients were reported safe.
Police said they had informed the Indian Embassy and were working with forensic doctors to carry out a detailed post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
