Marine police intercepted an alleged illegal fishing tour for Chinese tourists in the Andaman Sea off Phuket on June 25 and found unauthorised Starlink equipment on board, according to the source material.
The operator, identified as Krittaphas, 27, is alleged to have organised unlicensed fishing tours using a boat not registered for that activity. Officers stopped the bright pink vessel off the Laem Dinso viewpoint with two Chinese tourists on board.
Police said they found a Starlink router, power supply, cables and a satellite dish during the inspection. Krittaphas reportedly said the equipment belonged to his company but could not produce supporting documents.
Officers also said there were no licensed tour guides present, despite that being required by law. Police inspected the vessel's registration and crew qualifications before allegedly finding that the boat was in breach of the conditions of its licence under the Thai Maritime Navigation Act.
