A mother is appealing for help to identify a foreign motorcyclist after a hit-and-run in Rawai, Phuket, left a teenage boy seriously injured on May 10. The collision happened at about 2:30pm when a motorcycle carrying three people allegedly changed lanes abruptly and struck the boy’s vehicle, causing him to lose control and crash.
The teenager suffered serious injuries to his left leg, right knee and both arms, according to the report. His red Honda Wave also sustained heavy damage on its left side.
CCTV footage said to show suspect’s plate
Ms Rainbow Sarnrach, the boy’s mother, said she obtained CCTV footage that shows the registration plate of the motorcycle involved.
She said she had already reported the case to police but had seen no progress despite what she described as clear evidence.
Rider reportedly fled toward Promthep Cape
The rider allegedly fled the scene immediately after the crash instead of stopping. Reports said the motorcyclist then ran a red light while heading toward Promthep Cape.
A public appeal has been issued for information that could help identify the foreign rider and support legal action in the case.
Police had not provided an official update on the investigation or released the identity of the suspect.
