A motorcyclist died after his Honda Click crashed into a roadside planter on Thepkrasattri Road in Srisoonthorn, Thalang, police said.
A motorcyclist died after crashing into a roadside planter on Thepkrasattri Road in Srisoonthorn, Thalang, police said.
Pol Lt Anusasan Klin Khiao, deputy investigator at Thalang Police Station, received the report at 4:37am. The crash occurred on the northbound lanes at the U-turn opposite the Ford dealership in Baan Lipon.
Police, Srisoonthorn Municipality rescue workers and Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation personnel found a blue, white and black Honda Click 125 with a Bangkok licence plate against the planter. The rider was lying in tall grass nearby and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the man was not carrying identification documents and was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and black shorts. He had suffered severe head injuries, including a fractured skull. Forensic doctors from Vachira Phuket Hospital conducted a preliminary examination before the body was taken there for further examination.
Police believe the rider was travelling at high speed, lost control, mounted the footpath and hit a planter placed on the sidewalk for sale. Investigators are working to identify him and locate his relatives. The investigation is continuing.
