Myanmar Man Arrested With Homemade Gun on Bangla Road in Patong
Police on Bangla Road in Patong arrested a 22-year-old Myanmar man after finding an unregistered homemade handgun and one .38 caliber round.
A 22-year-old Myanmar man was arrested on Bangla Road in Patong after police found him carrying a homemade handgun and ammunition in the busy entertainment district.
The arrest was made by the Bangla Special Patrol Unit during an operation conducted under the direction of Acting Police Colonel Korakrit Khanthakrua, superintendent of Patong Police Station.
Police said a search found one unregistered homemade pistol and a single .38 caliber round. The firearm and ammunition were seized as evidence.
Authorities charged the suspect with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and with carrying a weapon in public without authorization. He was taken to Patong Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
