Nam-Ing crowned Miss Universe Phuket

Nam-Ing was crowned Miss Universe Phuket after defeating nine other contestants at the grand final held at the Novotel Phuket City Phokeethra.

Kiara Paweenchaya Kraithalingchai was named first runner-up, while Jessie Prapawarin Lynch finished as second runner-up. Yuphaloi Yupawan Semayai and Emily Guild were named third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

The win marks the latest step in Nam-Ing’s pageant career, which began in 2023 when she won the Miss Universe Thailand Nakhon Sri Thammarat title at age 18. Originally from Phatthalung, she was then a Grade 12 science-mathematics student at Khao Chaison School. The source said she later graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus before returning to the pageant stage to compete under the Phuket banner.

Speaking after her victory, Nam-Ing said she felt both excited and relieved after years of competing.

“I feel very excited and relieved because I have finally achieved it,” she said. “I want to thank everyone who has followed and supported me since I first started competing. Thank you for all the encouragement you have always given me.”

Looking ahead to Miss Universe Thailand 2026, Nam-Ing said she planned to rely on her individuality.

“I will bring my true self to the Miss Universe Thailand stage. I am confident that, working with Team Phuket, pageant fans will see another version of me,” she said. “I will continue to improve myself and do my best to bring the crown back to Phuket.”

She also addressed Miss Universe Thailand national director Nawat Itsaragrisil, saying: “Boss, see you in Bangkok. Please be kind to me. I will do my very best.”

The grand final was organised by Miss Universe Phuket licence holder Thanapat Nuansakul in collaboration with the Thai Peranakan Association and the Phuket Peranakan Association. The event highlighted Phuket’s Peranakan identity through fashion, cultural performances and local cuisine.

Contestants first appeared in contemporary versions of traditional Phuket attire before competing in swimsuit and evening gown rounds. Kiara Paweenchaya Kraithalingchai won the Best in Phuket Batik award, while Jessie Prapawarin Lynch received the Best in Swimsuit award.

The evening was hosted by Veena Praveenar Singh, Miss Universe Thailand 2025 and first runner-up at Miss Universe 2025. Former Miss Universe Phuket titleholder Dale Narumon Pimphakdi, who later finished second runner-up at Miss Universe Thailand 2025, also returned to the stage for a farewell appearance.
