Nearly 200k meth pills seized in Phuket air-cooler parcel sting

Nearly 200,000 methamphetamine pills were seized in Phuket on April 5 after police intercepted a suspicious air-cooler parcel at a local delivery depot. Officers said the shipment, addressed to a recipient in Kathu district, concealed 198,000 yaba tablets packed in plastic bags inside the appliance.

Parcel Interception and Investigation

Authorities reported that the package was flagged during routine screening at the depot, prompting a search that uncovered the drugs. The air-cooler’s internal compartment had been modified to hide the meth pills, police said.

The shipment’s sender was identified in records as a resident of another province, while the intended recipient’s address was traced to a rented room in Kathu. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the depot and nearby areas to identify individuals involved in the delivery and collection process.
